Hi, my name is Mirelle, and I’m from Cameroon. I’m really excited about this new journey I’ve embarked on. The change is different, and it’s definitely a challenge, but I’m embracing it. Right now, I’m learning how to take care of people who are in need—people who are sick or simply need assistance—and I absolutely love that. Acts of service are something that I’m passionate about, and that’s why I believe this was a great choice for me.

Getting started wasn’t difficult at all. I checked out the website, got all the information I needed, and sent in my documents. The school’s team was so helpful and friendly, making the process really smooth. When they requested extra documents, I sent them in, and communication was constant. They would email back and forth, ensuring I had all the information I needed, and if I ever had any difficulties, they were always willing to help. Honestly, it was such an easy and pleasant process.

Now, living here in Moncton, I have to say, first of all—it’s cold! I think it’s quite cold, but Moncton itself is very cool. It’s calm, quiet, and reserved, which makes it a great place for studying. The people are incredibly nice and welcoming. It did take me a bit of time to find a house since Moncton seems to be filling up fast, but I eventually found a place. The bus routes here are good, and I was able to settle in without too much difficulty. I live in a convenient location, which makes it easy to move from home to school.

Looking ahead, I have some clear goals. In five years, I see myself advancing in the Personal Support Worker (PSW) field. My aim is to become a PSW supervisor in a care home. I want to pass down the knowledge I’ve acquired from my college experience to new PSWs who come into the field. I envision myself in a supervisory role in a nursing or care home, helping others grow and succeed.

If you’re considering this path, my advice is simple: go for it! This college is one of the best in Canada, at least from what my research tells me, and I truly believe that. It’s an amazing place, and the atmosphere is so friendly and welcoming, especially for international students like myself. I’ve never felt uncomfortable or out of place here. If you’re thinking about studying here, I’m sure you’ll love it as much as I do.
