I decided to apply to Eastern College for the online Accounting and Payroll program because it turned out to be the best option for our family and busy schedules. I liked that the course was completely online and that I could create my own schedule for working on my schoolwork, so long as I met the deadlines. I definitely had an adjustment period in the beginning, learning to navigate through the different learning software and what was expected with each course. The facilitators were always available to help and answer questions, whether it was through online chat or a video call. It was great to be able to see and speak with real people while not even having to leave my home. I also really appreciated the team environment with our classmates. Although we didn’t have the face-to-face interaction with our classmates in a classroom, the ability to chat with everyone over Teams at any time was extremely helpful.

Upon completion of the course in the spring, I had no intention of job hunting until the fall. A few weeks after graduation, I had the opportunity to apply for a job that became available. I reached out right away to our Career Planning facilitator, who was not only willing to help but also encouraging and enthusiastic about my job application. The tools I learned from the Career Planning course, along with the support from the facilitator gave me the confidence I needed to get through each phase of the interview process, and I landed the job! I am not only excited about starting my new career but also feeling confident to begin because of the training and education I received through Eastern College. What a great experience it has been!
