When it comes to your future, we know the importance of choosing the best financial option for you. At Eastern College, our Financial Services team will provide you with the information you need about funding options that may be available to you.

Your Funding Options

Self-pay
Students who choose to pay out of pocket for their program can pay it in quarterly installments or in equal monthly payments. Students will be required to set up a pre-authorized bank withdrawal or pre-authorized credit card withdrawal

Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP)

(RESP) is a long-term savings plan to help people save for a child’s education after high school, including trade schools, CEGEPs, colleges, universities, and apprenticeship programs. An adult can also open an RESP for themselves.

Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP)

The Lifelong Learning Plan (LLP) allows you to withdraw up to $10,000 in a calendar year from your RRSPs to finance full-time training or education for you or your spouse or common-law partner.

Training and Skills Development New Brunswick

Training and skills Development (TSD) selectively provides grants to people who meet the program criteria. The focus of the program is to help clients receive training or educational programs which will allow them to return quickly to work. TSD may be able to fund a portion of your educational and living costs. Contact the closest office to you today!

Employment Nova Scotia – Skills Development

The Skills Development (SD) program provides unemployed, Labour Market Development Agreement (LMDA) eligible participants, who need to learn additional basic to advanced skills, development training to help them obtain the skills they need to find work. ENS may be able to fund a portion of your educational and living costs. Contact the closest office to you today!

Skills Development PEI

Training PEI program was developed to assist job seekers to gain the skills and education necessary to find and maintain employment. Financial support is provided to enable a job seeker to complete a post secondary certificate or diploma program. Skills Development PEI may be able to fund a portion of your educational and living costs. Contact the closest office to you today!

Veterans Affairs

Funding for Formal Education and Training Programs is provided to eligible Veterans to pursue further training and education at a post-secondary level. An Education and Training Plan must be developed and submitted by each Veteran prior to the beginning of the educational program.

Nova Scotia Financial Assistance Program

The federal and provincial governments provide assistance to help students who would be unable to attend post-secondary study because their family resources were not sufficient to cover their educational costs.

New Brunswick Financial Assistance Program

The Government of Canada and the Government of New Brunswick work together to help you access and pay for post-secondary education. With one application each year of your program, you will be considered for student financial assistance, which may include loans, grants, and bursaries from both levels of government.

You may be eligible for one of the many bursaries offered by Eastern College. Please contact an Education Consultant for more information. 

Windmill Microlending

This partnership with a registered charity enables skilled immigrants and refugees to apply for a microloan of up to $15,000 to obtain the Canadian licensing or training required to continue their careers in Canada. Empowering newcomers to achieve economic prosperity, microloans can help internationally-trained immigrants afford the education or training they need to have a better chance at career success.

Student Line Of Credit 

Most major banks and credit unions offer student lines of credit to finance post-secondary education. Our Financial Aid Officers can provide you with contacts at financial institutions to find out more information.

Employer and Union-Sponsored Education Programs 

Some employers and unions provide education assistance and tuition reimbursement programs for employees and children of employees. Check with your employer, or your parent’s employer(s), to see if they offer any education assistance or tuition reimbursement programs that you may qualify for.

Out Of Province Students

Financial assistance may be available for out of province students who qualify. For a list of provincial offices, please visit the Government of Canada CanLearn website. 

Monthly Payment Plan

A monthly payment plan can be arranged to suit your needs. Tuition and material costs are divided into monthly payments throughout your program. The first payment is due on the first day of classes, and the final payment is due approximately one month prior to completion of your studies.

Payments are interest free while you are an active student. All students are automatically eligible for monthly payment plans with no credit check or co-signer required.

Eastern College accepts the following methods of payment:

  • Pre-authorized bank withdrawals (for monthly payment plans)
  • Pre-authorized credit card payments (for monthly payment plans)
  • Credit cards: Visa or Mastercard
  • Debit cards (interact direct payment)
  • Secure online credit and debit payments through the eastern college student web portal
  • Cheques, money orders and cash
