Eastern College Launches New Supply Chain & Operations Management Program and Updates Supply Chain & Logistics Program for Remote Delivery featured image

Halifax, NS; Eastern College is proud to announce the launch of its brand-new Supply Chain & Operations Management diploma program and the update of its Supply Chain & Logistics program, both offered through remote delivery. These recently programs were developed in consultation with industry professionals to reflect the rapid changes shaping the global supply chain industry, including automation, sustainability, and digital transformation. 

Both programs prepare students to play a critical role in managing the movement of goods, services, and information across international networks. Graduates gain the skills needed to meet employer demands for efficiency, innovation, and technological fluency in one of Canada’s most vital business sectors. 

“The supply chain industry continues to evolve rapidly, creating strong demand for professionals who understand how to keep goods and services moving efficiently,” said Jeff Turner, Faculty Head for Supply Chain Programs at triOS College and Eastern College. “Our updated programs give students a solid foundation in logistics, operations, and technology, along with the hands-on experience and industry certifications needed to build successful, future-ready careers.” 

Program highlights include: 

  • Recently Updated Curriculum: Developed in collaboration with industry advisors to reflect the latest trends in automation, sustainability, and global logistics. 
  • Nationally Recognized Credentials: Graduates earn the Canadian International Freight Forwarders Association (CIFFA) Certificate in International Freight Forwarding. 
  • Real-World Experience: Hands-on logistics and operations projects, ERP and analytics training, and a 12-week internship connect students directly with employers and industry practices. 
  • Technology-Driven Training: Build practical skills in Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, and data analytics to meet the digital demands of today’s workforce. 
  • Convenient Learning Options: Choose between remote synchronous or online asynchronous delivery to fit your schedule. 
  • Career-Focused Outcomes: Graduates are prepared for roles such as Supply Chain Specialist, Logistics Coordinator, Procurement Analyst, or Operations. 
  • Pathway for Advancement: Supply Chain Logistic graduates can continue into the Supply Chain Operations Management program to develop advanced leadership, analytics, and management expertise. 

The Supply Chain & Logistics program focuses on core logistics, purchasing, and freight forwarding, while the extended Supply Chain & Operations Management program includes advanced coursework in enterprise resource planning (ERP), project management, and business analytics. These launches reflect Eastern College’s ongoing commitment to providing industry-aligned education that prepares graduates to meet the demands of a global, technology-driven economy.
