Eastern College has recently updated its Vaccination Policy for faculty, staff, students, and visitors to all 4 campus locations. The new guidelines were effective September 7, 2021.
The newly formulated COVID-19 Vaccination Policy will either require proof of vaccination or participation in regular COVID-19 testing of all staff, students, contractors, clients, test centre candidates, vendors, and visitors attending any college facility in person.
As of September 7, 2021, all employees, students, contractors, clients, test centre candidates, vendors, and visitors attending any college facility in person are required to confirm that they have had at least one dose of a Health Canada or World Health Organization approved vaccine before entering the Campus or Eastern Support Centre.
The second dose should be received by October 15, 2021 with proof of full vaccination required by no later than October 30, 2021. Alternatively, a negative COVID-19 test via rapid antigen testing from within the last 7 days can be provided.
This requirement will remain in place until August 2022. Proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test from within the last 7 days will be provided to the front desk staff member prior to being able to move past reception in any facility. Failure to provide this proof will result in the individual being denied entry past the reception area of the facility.
An employee or student that is continuing to work or study remotely and is not required to access the campus facility in-person will not be required to provide proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test. If at any time the employee or student is required to attend the facility in-person, for any reason, proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test will be required.
Previously communicated requirements related to social distancing and PPE (e.g. masks, gowns, gloves, etc.) remain in place for anyone attending any college facility. The health and safety of students and employees is top priority and will continue to be the primary consideration in decisions as students and staff work and study from triOS Eastern College campuses.
